Since it is fall and nearing Hallowe'en we decided to decorate the front door for the occasion. Those are some beautiful 'mums and real pumpkin.
We even remembered to bring out the Hallowe'en banner. After Thanksgiving we will start our Christmas decorating and will post the results.
Fall has fell, the flowers have died.
I wonder where the birdies flyed?
Everybody says that the birdies take to wing,
but that's absurd.
Everybody knows,
It's the wing that takes the bird.
As a blogging friend might say, "flap, flap, swoosh."
Happy birthday to all others who celebrate their birthdays today!

so sorry the impatiens are gone. my are also not doing so well right now. though we've had not frost, the weather is getting colder at night - but here in the bay area we typically see a "heat wave" in october - just before halloween.
so jack, are you a libra?
happy birthday!
(p.s. this bird ain't winging it anywhere but home for the winter - hahahaha!)
i love you dad. hope your day was wonderful! it was nice to start my day talking with first mom and then you!
much love...
Frost is very unforgiving isn't it? We don't have frost here on the coast but I have seen some great ones in my time. One of the pastimes on the way to school in Victoria was to jump in puddles to break the ice if they were not too shallow. Thanks for visiting my site, she was tricky with the pjs wasn't she. Cheers Margaret
Just come over from Margarets
The impatiens just turn to mush soon as the frost hit them,The frost was very bad here this winter killed many of my plants especialy my impatiens, begonias,we had frost last week and very hot this week 36c=98fand were still in spring so were in for along hot summer.
It's unbelieveable that we haven't had frost yet since we set a record Oct. 12 for two and a half inches of snow! But, so far, everyone's flowers are still intact; the mums are sooooooooo pretty next to the pumpkins. We usually leave our geranium planters out til about the end of Oct. bringing them in at night if frost is predicted.
Great photos, Jack! :+)
