Head colds are hell!

I knew it was coming. They don't come often, but when they do they are a bit of pain. It's an achy feeling and my nose keeps dripping incessantly. There also lots and lots of sneezes. I will probably go through a couple of boxes of tissues before it is all over. I suspect it will last another couple of days and then things will be back to normal.

My current remedy is a hot cup of lemon/honey tea with a dollop of Old Crow. It is not one of my favorite whiskeys. I am more of a scotch drinker, but I think it is a waste of Johnny Walker Black to adulterate it with honey, lemon and tea. Maybe I'll just have to revert to JWB and forget about the rest of it.

I began my day as usual signing up for the HGTV dream home sweepstakes and one other that promised a $25,000 kitchen make over. The dream home sweepstakes ends in about 12 days. It is quite beautiful. We can see ourselves living there. However, we suspect we will have to wind the Power Ball jackpot to be able to afford to live there. The taxes would probably eat us alive. We'll just have to cross that bridge when we get to it.

My next effort is to read some of my favorite blogs--Our World, Free Pass, The Cheerful Cynic, My Thoughts, Party Ducks, The Boring Observations of a Frog, Day Dreams, Bird's Blog, and Contrary Brin. I usually take time to "lurk" at some of the sites of those who leave comments on these blogs. I just may add Cardboard People to the list. The interests of these folks is absolutely fantastic. OK, OK, I know, three of them are my daughters, but, hey, a dad has the right and obligation to be proud.

Due to this regimen I have found folks as far away as Australia who are fun to share information with. All of the bloggers have added immeasurably to my life, especially my daughters.

It is time to get back to my tea. I wish you all well. And, as I am prone to say on occasion...

Serve Well! LIve Fully! Do Good Works!

Hope you get to feeling better. Colds are no fun. Try chamomile tea at night, it will halp you sleep.

Feel better Dad. It's not a fun thing, being sick.

So sorry to hear you are unwell. At least your immune system is up and running. A bit of rum and milk goes down well at night. My father-in-law swore by it.
Your other blog recommendations will be visited by me on another occasion. Thank you for your directives.
Keep warm and rest, and drink plenty of water.
Take care
