Day Four of the New Year.

It was an early morning. Too early to get up. It was the usual time, 0600 hours, but the clock read about 0100 hours when we turned out the lights and tried to get to sleep. That is the price to be paid when you stay up to watch the complete Orange (AARP or geriatric) Bowl game. It was an exciting game. Each team played to the weakness or strength of the other. Having gone into triple overtime before the outcome was decided was nerve wracking.

Being married to a Penn State graduate, requires one to cheer on the team. We have been following Penn State football for years. We are known to go to the sports bar to watch with the alumni group. However, last night we decided to stay home and watch it. Given the outcome and the late hour, I'm glad we did.

I suspect there will be an afternoon nap for a couple of sleepy heads. I will put off my nap until after my daily 20 minute walk. I am determined to continue this ritual/habit. So far, I am feeling a lot better. Yesterday, as I was walking on the treadmill, I put my foot back and felt a little resistance. It was Hazel, our cat. She is a great supervisor. I don't know for sure, but I think you might have wanted to walk too. 3.5 MPH might be a little fast for her to sustain for any time. One of these days I might put her on at a slow speed and see just what she does.

Keep going Dad, soon enough the habit will be ingrained enough that not walking will seem strange. You will feel better for the walks every day.

Naps are good, naps are our friend.

Live fully....
