It has been a week

My how the time flies. I knew it had been a while since I had composed anything, but it took a comment from a long-distance friend to get me to check it out. It has been a week since my last "original" posting.

In the grand scheme of things not much has happened until last evening. Just prior to bed time a childhood friend of Maryann's calls from New Mexico. It is news for which we have been waiting. Her daughter, who happens to live with her husband in Australia, just gave birth to their first child. The arrival of Jessica Elise was anxiously awaited by us all. Apparently a C-section was required. All are doing well.

We had a whirlwind trip to Denver, CO for their wedding in November, 1999. We were in Denver from Friday to Sunday. It seemed a lot longer because of all the things we did. You know, the usual things--wedding rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, wedding, wedding reception, a night cap before bed, the fight outside the hotel's bar where the police had to be called. You know, the usual things. (None of the wedding party was involved in the fight. We thanked the father of the bride for arranging the additional entertainment. Particularly since the groom's relatives had come from their home in Australia to attend the wedding. How exciting for them. I'm sure they don't get to see those kind of activities back home.)

As for the rest of the week, we are still learning how to best load the new dishwasher. I have been allowed to put a few cups and utensils into it. It is simple to figure out where they go.

Beyond that, the week was quite routine. Awake each morning, swing my legs over the side of the bed, stand up and count my blessings that I can still do that.

Now I need to keep cognizant of the ways in which I can...

Serve well! Live fully! Do good works!

Yes, another day where we can get up on our own. It's a beautiful thing...

Tell the family I send my congratulations!!! That's wonderful to hear...did I know she was pregnant? (I did, I did)

Just getting ready to head to work and sell sell sell. That is if anyone comes in to buy buy buy.

Congratualtions to the couple's new arrival. Ahhh another Jessica on the planet. She will bring them great delight if my Jessica is anything to go by....
BTW a brawl outside a pub in Australia is almost mandatory on any given Friday or Saturday night. I am sure the guests from OZ all those years ago felt right at home.
Glad mum and bub are doing well. Such a joyous time.
Glad to see you back in the congnizent land of the blogging Jack. We have missed you.

haha.. you are now allowed to put a few cups and utensils in the dishwasher. I have tried to explain to bf a few times that "forks and spoons go in the bigger spots because they take up more space!" and "those go on the top shelf!"
